Monitoring

One of the things I can do for a family who is unable to visit their loved one frequently is to provide “Monitoring” or “Oversight Services”. That type of help includes:

• Daily or weekly check-up calls to a loved one.
• Home safety evaluations.
• Oversight visits to Retirement, Assisted Living or Nursing Facilities. The oversight visit gives the family peace of mind knowing that someone is checking up on the care that his or her loved one is receiving.
• Assisting with “Financial Wellness”, i.e., managing the household financial accounts. I meet with the clients in their home and assist with Bill Paying, Bank Statement Reconciliation, Coordinating Transfer of Funds, etc. This way the client is still in control and in charge of their affairs.
• Referrals to the appropriate professional as needed. For example, a CPA to do the taxes or an Elder Law Attorney for an updated Will.
